Blue Alberta skies and brilliant sunshine, fabulous fairways and even more fabulous food — the full slate of golfers at the 15rh annual tournament hosted by Culinary Team Alberta couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
Team Coach Resi Mendoza worked tirelessly to organize and execute this year’s tournament with the help of his faithful comrades and good folks at Redwood Meadows Golf and Country Club.
The purpose of this annual event is to raise money for Culinary Team Alberta to compete internationally. The Team has been very successful over the past years bringing honour and recognition to Edmonton, Alberta and Canada. It is an expensive endeavour but the rewards for the chefs, the city and the province are real and cumulative. The Team travels to Erfurt, Germany, in October to compete in the World Culinary Olympics. This is the BIG one. Although they performed excellently in 2004, they didn’t win it all and now the Team is very, very focused on coming out on top and doing what it takes to get there.
Team members have been working especially hard this summer to perfect their competition dishes and prepare themselves for the rigorous and intense competition at the Culinary Olympics.
