MISSION

Culinary Team Alberta members have been given the mandate by the Alberta Culinary Arts Foundation to form and compete as Alberta’s provincial culinary team until 2008.

  • The successes of past culinary teams have given Alberta, its chefs and indigenous products a reputation of excellence and innovation that has been painstakingly earned. The new Culinary Team Alberta will embark on a mission to uphold that reputation.

  • Culinary Team Alberta will pursue excellence in culinary arts, skills and craftsmanship in order to deservedly represent Alberta as culinary ambassadors of a cuisine that is unique to Alberta and reflective of the cultural diversity and agricultural abundance of our province and country.

  • The Team will maintain and foster, through its activities, a vigorous and dynamic presence in the international culinary arena benefiting and increasing the profile of all Albertan and Canadian chefs; and "Made in Alberta and Canada" products and services through various media and public relation events, competitions, and educational, sponsor and exhibitor programs.

  • World-class excellence to be truly "world-class" must be repeatedly acknowledged in the international arena. The chefs named to Culinary Team Alberta will represent our province and country, judged by their peers in four distinct international competitions – Luxembourg (2006) and Culinary Olympics in Germany (2008).

  • Culinary Team Alberta will raise the profile of its chefs, supporters and partners by holding practices, and fundraising events across Alberta in association with local Canadian Culinary Federation / Fédération Culinaire Canadienne (CCFCC) branches as well as participating in culinary shows and exhibitions.

  • Culinary Team Alberta will endeavour to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with members of the foodservice and hospitality industry who are committed to excellence in their field.

  • Competition provides a forum for Culinary Team Alberta members to develop their professional skills in the company of master chefs from around the world. In taking back to their workplaces the fruits of those experiences, Team members enrich the foodservice, hospitality and tourism industries.
